Repair of Damaged Laptop/Notebook DC Power Jack

Depending on the extent of secondary damage to the motherboard, this repair is usually a viable alternative to motherboard replacement*.  Repair of the DC power jack requires that the motherboard be removed from the chassis.  When the DC power jack cannot be repaired, additional cost for a new jack is $35, on average. 

* Notebook motherboards are multi-layer boards, and difficult to manufacture.  As a result, these boards are costly to produce, and are often priced over $1000.

Notebook repair is demanding, and should not be undertaken casually.  Avoid sending your computer to mass-production repair facilities which may not observe quality standards.  Servicing high-density components requires absolute cleanliness throughout the process, electrostatic discharge protection, and detailed hardware management.  Marginal compliance in any of these areas can produce notebook failures that are extremely difficult to resolve.

Our process is meticulous.  After disassembly, all notebook components are thoroughly cleaned through 3M toner-grade filters.  All heatsinks are checked, and the processor heatsink compound is replaced with fresh copper thermal compound.  Notebook motherboard repairs and inspections are carried out using our 3X lenses and 8X/100X microscopes.  Cable routing, shielding, and component orientation are checked prior to final reassembly and testing.
