Windows Registry Cleaning

We have dropped this option.  The risk of system damage by using a registry "cleaner" far outweighs the tiny benefit of removing old registry entries.

About the Registry

The Windows Registry is actually collections of system files, also known as "hives."  Quite simply, the Registry provides information for the operating system and applications to function.  It is probably the most important set of files on your computer.  Among its functions, it provides a place for the system and applications to store information that tells them how to start, save data, configure users, and anything else that the system needs to know.  If the Registry is missing or seriously damaged, your system will not start.
