System Reload and Data Transfer

If an operating system reload is recommended, we will save the contents of your "My Documents" folder (and other data files/folders that you may indicate), and perform a fresh install of your operating system.  [A fresh install will first format, or erase, your hard drive.]  If your hard drive is more than 3 years old, you should consider having us replace it with a new one at this time.

The install can be made from your system's restoration CD's, or the "as-shipped" restoration partition (if it exists).  If neither of these is available, we can reload using our own CD's, providing your system has a valid license key.  We will then restore your saved data, and install all Microsoft updates.  If we use your restoration partition, and if you opt for disk replacement, we will transfer everything to your new disk.

Please note that your original application software (programs) cannot be "copied", and must be re-installed individually using your program CD's.  The only exception to this is when your system is reloaded from a restoration partition, which will restore your system to the point where it was shipped by the manufacturer.  Software programs that had been installed after this point must be re-installed individually.  If you provide us with your application CD's, we will re-install up to 3 applications for you at no additional cost.
